Oscar winner Ang Lee to make a fantasy movie "Life of Pi"

Taiwan - Oscar winning director Ang Lee plans to shoot a movie based on an fantasy book titled "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel. It is a story of an Indian boy named Pi Patel. Pi grew up a Hindu, but discovered the Catholic faith at age 14 and later met a Mr. Kumar, a muslim.

Based on Yahoo! news, "Lee has chosen 17-year-old Suraj Sharma from 3,000 candidates for the title role of the boy who drifts on the open sea with a Bengal tiger and a hyena, saved after a ship carrying the rest of his family sinks." The director will use a modern technology to create the realistic life of Pi in 3D. The movie will be expected to release on December 14, 2012.
